Chili Cheese Grilled Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 1/2 cup cooked ground beef
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 slices pickled jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the seasoned ground beef until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  4. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Top with cooked ground beef, shredded cheese, jalapeño slices, and cilantro.
  6. Cover with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side up.
  7. Cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until golden and cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then cut in half and serve.
