Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (200g) caramel sauce
  • 1 cup (200g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter, sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and salt until a dough forms.
  4. Press dough evenly into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  5. Remove from oven and immediately spread caramel sauce over the warm crust.
  6. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  7. Pour melted chocolate over the caramel layer and refrigerate for 1 hour until set.
  8. Lift out of pan using parchment paper and cut into squares.
