Harissa Grilled Chicken Skewers

Smoky chicken skewers marinated in harissa, garlic, and lemon for a fast grill recipe with plenty of character.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons harissa paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken into large bite-size pieces and toss with harissa, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and paprika.
  2. Marinate for at least 20 minutes while the grill heats to medium-high.
  3. Thread the chicken onto skewers and season lightly with salt.
  4. Grill, turning every few minutes, until charred in spots and cooked through.
  5. Stir the yogurt with chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lemon.
  6. Serve the skewers hot with the herbed yogurt and extra lemon wedges.
