Ingredients

  • 1 round sourdough loaf
  • 1 lb cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a 1/2-inch border to form a bowl. Set the bread bowl aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender, about 8 minutes.
  4. Add garlic and thyme, cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Stir in parmesan and mozzarella cheeses until melted and combined.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Pour the mushroom mixture into the hollowed bread bowl.
  8. Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh thyme sprigs and serve immediately.
